Simply an awesome design. I especially dig the non symetric weapon array.

Thanks a lot!
I like the asymmetrical weapon too. I find that I do that sorta thing a lot without planning it, it just looks nice when I build it.
Glad you like it.

Sure official sets can't compare to independant work but that's because LEGO has restrictions for it's set designers. Set designers must be under a certain price point and be child friendly. So I'm sure they would go a bit more crazy if they were allowed.

oh I totally forget the business rule, a model with many spiky features are not child friendly.

It's not about spiky features as there are a lot of spikes in some sets. It's about simplicity and playability. It needs to be easy for kids in the designated age to be able to build, and it has to have features that kids will want to keep playing with.

right its not child friendly if anything need 3 hand work at once. Also lego assembly has to resemble something kid recognized immediately, guess that's why they gone starwars and not some other hardcore mech stuff.

Wonderful design, would work great as merchandise if you turned it into a 3d model. Maybe as a drone in an R-Type video game cartoon or toyline.

Haha, thanks.
Although this is not the first time for me to be hearing about this looking like something from R-Type but for trying to sell this and get it into the series one way or another will be too much to do. I can't create 3D models either so I'm stuck there even if I tried to sell this in any way shape or form.

As I watch the Overture flyby, I know it was a special type of mission. As I heard an explosion in the distance, it must of finished its mission. Now, I have to carry on with it.

I'm sorry but I can't really help you :/

Its ok , just look so much better than the pieces I used to have about 15 years ago :) . All the smooth edged bits and the long fins are ace!

Very nicely done. And on the side, it reminds me of a flying fish. Must be the psotion of the wings relative to the main body.
