Hardsuit by Freedom-01 Hardsuit by Freedom-01
A new hardsuit I made, its been a while since I have done one.
Anyways, not much to say about this guy except that I tried making a re-do of this [link] hardsuit. Well, it became an entirely new suit, but that old hardsuit was always in my head while building.

You can see more pics here [link]

Well, enjoy!

The exposed cockpit and white plates remind me so much of Lost Planet. This could in a box the size of one of those Bionicle Mask boosters, and I'd buy so many!

More goodness here. Love the masses and the body language; and the purple and green touches are a personal favorite of mine. Have you ever checked out Genocidal Penguin's stuff on here? The posing and weight are what bring him to mind. Good stuff!

It looks like a V.S. (vital suit) from lost planet, and since it looks that accurate, it looks completly amazing!

Hehe, thanks.
But nope, I probably only spent half an hour on this at max. I don't build a whole lot because of laziness, but the only thing I can pump out are small things like this, when I do feel like building that is.

When I get much bigger and it starts to involve more planning and experimenting I will take a couple weeks to build it.

Do you keep all of the stuff you make? or do you end up scavenging them for parts for other builds later on?

Nope not really. I keep some of my best, which include the Holo Class, The Liberty, another starfighter and the APC.

When it's a hardsuit like this I will take it apart and take pics of how to put it back togehter, in case I want to rebuild it again. But usually I will take my builds apart as I still have a limited amount of Lego even when I have quite alot.

Do you buy lego kits to build what they are supposed to be? Or do you just see a new kit with a bunch of pieces you could use and buy it based on that?

Sorry for the the questions but I just started discovering the people are making some incredibly bad ass mechs with legos and now I wanna dig out my old box of legos and try my hand at it! lol

Actually I do both! When I was little and never knew about the big lego community I always bought the sets and tried to keep the together but that never happened. Even now, If I see a set I really like I will build it and maybe at somepoint if it has parts I need I will take it apart. But sometimes I buy sets just because they have the parts I want. Like I bought one set like 3 times just so I could get this certain wing piece. I could have ordered the pieces but that would take to long and I was on vacation.

I really don't mind the questions. It's nice to see another person wanting to get back into lego.
Just as a tip when you start building again. When building it takes time. effort and practise. Don't expect something radical one your first try. Some people are like that but not all. Like I'm not one of those people, I have to keep building the same thign for a very long time before I get it at where I want. Especailly the bigger things.

Good luck getting back into Lego! I'm sure you will be able to create great things.

I've been finding some pretty incredible work by some guys that have flickr accounts, do you know of any good websites to check out to find more collections of work in the lego community?

I personally would say that flickr is one of the best lego communities.
But there are others.
There is a blog site that blogs lego creations, they're super popular [link]
There is another lego webiste called Brickshelf [link] It may be harder to find people that you like and you can't comment or fav anything on that site.
There is also MOCpages. I try to stay away from there cause that's where the little kids go and basically have ruined that. Besides checking out that blog, I suggest staying on flickr. I really like it.

Okay, that's awesome. I wish I had skill like that. And the Lego pieces. So many new pieces have come out since the last time I bought a regular Lego set.
